Finally!!

Look what I got!! I've been saving and saving vinyl money and any tiny little bit of extra money I could to save up to buy a camera. But THEN, I sold something on Craigslist for my parents that they got for free and they sent me the entire $200! I couldn't have been more excited. So, today, I finally purchased a camera so that I don't lose any more months of Brayden's growing up! However, I bought it from Costco.com (since it comes with free shipping, a free 2gb SD card, and 90 day return policy) so I won't get it until Wednesday since it has to ship BUT it was $50 cheaper than it was last week on the website. So, I think it was fate how everything worked out. I am getting a camera that I think I'll LOVE and it all just seemed to fall into place just perfectly! Yay!!!!

Flashback Saturday

Pictures of Sean and I while dating...

This picture was probably taken about a week after Sean and I met, so the beginning of September, 2003. We wanted to go for a walk in the gardens, and I wanted some pictures to send home to my family so they could see the guy I was dating. We had someone take this picture for us. When I sent it home to my family my mom said "Are you going to marry this boy! It looks like an engagement picture!" I suppose it does...but at least its a good picture that we can look back on and remember what we looked like when we met. And yes, Sean's hair is bleached...

This picture is probably about 6 months into our relationship. He went to only "tipping" his hair because I suppose that was the cool thing to do...right?

This picture is the Fourth of July, so 10 months after we met, and his hair is all one color! Yay!

Flashback Friday...I mean Wednesday

So I haven't posted for a bit because I keep forgetting! Life is crazy! Anyway, here is last week's Flashback!

When I was in high school, my boyfriend's neighbor and priest quorum advisor was a really good photographer. He asked me if I could do him a favor. "Sure..." I said...a little hesitant. He said "Can I please take your Senior Pictures, print you one of each for free, put them in an album and can you take it to the high school and show it around and advertise for me?" I didn't have to think very long before I said "Uh...YES!" So, I got my senior pictures done for free...all 150 of them...and I only had to buy what I sent out and wanted to give to my mom to display, so I think I spent $100? Anyway, here are some of them.

Sean and I went in to check on Brayden last night. Since he cried himself to sleep, we wanted to make sure that he was covered and comfortable. He was just so dang cute we had to take a picture. Does this remind you of someone Mom?

Stairs!

Brayden learned how to climb the stairs! Wasn't it just a week or 2 ago that he was learning to crawl? It sure does seem like it. I was changing his diaper in our bedroom. The second his clothes were back on, he rolled over and was out the door. His dad was upstairs cleaning the kitchen and obviously he wanted him because he crawled straight to the bottom of the stairs, put his hands on the bottom step and said "daddadaddadadda!!" I was right behind him the whole way but wanting to see what he would do, didn't touch him. He pulled himself up to standing on the stairs and figured out how to get one leg up on the stair. He then could reach the second stair and pull the rest of his body onto the first stair. He pulled himself up to standing again and did this until he reached the top. I couldn't believe it. Having never done it before, he did it without any help. Isn't it amazing how fast kids learn? It is quite incredible to literally watch them learning and growing before our eyes. I love it!! He'll be 10 months old this week. I can't hardly believe it. It is definitely crazy how fast time flies!

Museum of Glass

Last Wednesday was Sean's 24th birthday. This last weekend we went up to my family's house in Enumclaw. I decided that since we were up in WA where I knew the area, we should celebrate his birthday up there. So, on Saturday, my mom watched Brayden for a few hours while I took Sean to the Museum of Glass in Tacoma. It was AWESOME! They have a Hot Shop that you can go into and see people actually making pieces of art with glass. The big cone that you see in the pictures is the Hot Shop. At the Museum they also have a gallery with a ton of amazing pieces. We weren't allowed to take pictures in there, which is probably good thing, otherwise I would have probably taken 100 pictures of just the pieces of art. Sean and I had a blast just being able to spend the morning together, looking at cool artwork.

After the museum, my mom and dad and Sean and I went out to lunch at my favorite restaurant, Cafe Panini, in Enumclaw. They have the best sandwiches! It was so fun to be able to spend most of the day with Sean, baby-free. Not that I don't love my son, but its nice to get a break every once in awhile!

9 1/2 Months

Brayden had his 9 month appointment today, which is really his 9.5 month appointment. Here are his stats...

Weight: 17 pounds 8 ounces, 5th percentile

Height: 28 1/2 inches, 52nd percentile

Head Circumference: 46 cm, 75th percentile

I think our baby is a little top heavy :) It's funny because at his 3 month appointment he was in the 95th percentile for height, 90th for weight, and 45th for head circumference. Crazy how much it can change!

Overall though the doctor said he looked good! He isn't concerned about his weight considering his dad is tall and skinny as well. He does want me to start putting butter on his bread and stuff to try to keep him on the weight curve. He said that he is really really strong for his age and that he looks healthy overall!! This of course is the best news so we're really excited! He said developmentally he is right on track and I should watch out cuz he could be walking soon. Crazy to think that my baby could be walking soon!

Flashback Friday

This is me on my first birthday, so August of 1986. You can kind of see the chicken pox on my right arm...I got my first chicken pock on my first birthday. I'm so glad I don't remember having them!
