We took Brayden trick or treating with some friends this evening. We didn't think he would last very long but he LOVED IT! My friend let me borrow a clown costume from her, and when we put the hat on him, Brayden pulled it off within seconds. However, when we put it on him when it was time to actually go trick or treating, he left it on the ENTIRE time. I couldn't believe it. He has never let anything stay on his head longer than about 5 seconds. Sean took Brayden to each of the doors and I walked along the sidewalk pushing Asher, who was dressed like a pumpkin, in the stroller. When at the door of each house, Brayden would very politely take one piece of candy from the bowl. Then he would hold it until the bowl at the next house was in front of him, put the first piece into the bag that Sean held, then grabbed a new piece, so the entire time he had 1 piece of candy in each hand. All in all, it was a really fun night. I'm glad that we got to take him out Trick or Treating because we haven't had that much fun with him in a long time. Thanks for inviting us Dan and Courtney!
Oregon Zoo
Saturday was a beautiful day. We decided to get out of the house and take the boys to the zoo. We had so much fun! It was really crowded because they were having a Halloween event where everyone came dressed up but we just were there for the animals. We were only there for an hour and a half or something but Brayden loved it. He loved seeing the black bear pace, and the jaguar laying next to the big window. He didn't mind being in his stroller the whole time either! And of course, Asher slept because that's what he does all day long (and not all night.)

2 weeks
Asher had his 2 week check up today. 2 weeks already!? It is really hard for me to believe that it has been 2 weeks... maybe that's because I've only gotten about as much sleep as I normally get in about 4 days but whatever. :)
Here are his stats:
Weight: 8 pounds 4 ounces (67th %)
Height: 20 1/4 inches (72nd %)
Head Circumference: 35 cm (34th %)
So, completely different topic: I have always HATED running...okay, exercising period. But I know that the best way to get rid of this baby weight is cardio. So, I have set a goal to get out and jog 3 days a week, and hopefully get out more on walks with the boys. I got out today and did a mile...it took me 14 minutes. Granted, I jogged part of it and walked most of it but it made me realize how out of shape I am! My lungs were burning! Oh man...I have a long road ahead of me. Hopefully I'll see a difference though, because that will be the best motivation for me. Wish me luck!

Last Night
Last night we went for a walk. It was such a gorgeous day, albeit cold! Brayden has been struggling with having a sibling and has been really difficult. He needs a lot of attention and has the biggest attitude when he isn't getting attention. We figured it'd help to get him out of the house so we bundled the kids up and decided to walk to the school that is just down the street. Brayden had fun pushing the stroller (thanks Lisa!) and also had fun on the slide and swings. (It was getting dark so my camera didn't take very good pictures but oh well) After we got back, we put Brayden down for bed and gave Asher a bath. Why is it that naked baby pictures are so cute?

Asher Briggs Janeway
He's Here!! Asher Briggs was born 10-8-08. He weighed 7 lbs 1 oz and was 19 1/2 inches long. Everything is great! He is a really mellow baby, especially compared to Brayden. He hardly ever cries. Brayden loves him. He loves to go look at him and just stare. My parents are in town to help us out for a little bit which is so nice.
The delivery went well... I was in the hospital for 2 hours before he was born, and only had to push for 7 minutes. I know, I'm extremely lucky. My epidural didn't kick in until about 5 minutes before I started to push so I definitely felt a lot of pain, but overall, I can't complain about the delivery. He was born face up so his head isn't shaped funky, he just has a bruise on his forehead. He is a beautiful baby. He nurses well and we are so blessed! I haven't gotten any sleep yet, but hopefully that will start tonight. I'm so glad he's here!!! Welcome Asher!!
