Seattle

This past weekend we took a trip up to Enumclaw. I had a Thrive Party Friday night to be at, and my niece, Kayla, got baptized on Saturday! We brought Quinlan with us, and we had such a fun trip. Kayla's baptism was so special, and most of the family was there. We missed Kyle, Heather Rae, and Dylan. All of the grandkids were together though! I don't have pictures of the family together, but when I get those from Lisa, I'll post them. After the baptism, we went to Lisa's house for lunch, and Kayla's birthday party. There was a woman in Lisa's ward that made her the most amazing cake ever! It was HUGE and so delicious! If I only had half that much talent...

On our way back from Marysville, Quinlan, William, Everett, Sean and I (B&A went home with Gma and Gpa) went to Seattle. Quinlan had been to Seattle, but hadn't experienced it. We remedied that! We took her to Pike Place, visited the Gum Wall, and walked along the water front. In the lower floors of the market, we visited a favorite photography store. It's one guy that takes all the photos, then he sits in his shop to sell them. He has amazing works so we always stop in to admire. The shop was empty so we took our sweet time looking at all of the pictures. I started talking with him and he mentioned that he never uses photoshop or does any editing. Everything that is in the shop is exactly how his camera captured it. His trick was, he saw the things that everyone else misses. He showed us his camera and it looked like a 5 year old Olympus point and shoot with a 1 inch square screen. It was old, tiny, and well used. I was gobsmacked. I could not believe that this was the camera he used! A lot of his pictures were reflections of a scene on the Sound, a puddle, or the wet cobblestone. He shared with us some tricks, and we went outside and started experimenting right away. We had so much fun! It was the perfect day to be in Seattle. It was cold, but it was blue skies, gorgeous clouds, and the sun rays were vibrant. It was hard to walk away!

William was still wearing his suit from the baptism. He got lots of comments on it :)

OMSI

Brayden went to OMSI today with Steph, Jakscon and Baron for Preschool. Steph sent me this picture and I LOVE it!

Nine Months

Everett had his check up on Wednesday. He gained 2 pounds and grew 2 inches since his 6 month appointment. He did really well with his 3 shots, and is amazingly happy! The doctor was laughing at how much he growls. I am SUPER anxious for him to start sleeping through the night. I think we are going to tackle that this weekend.

Everett learned how to clap this week. If we say "Everett, can you clap?" He gets this huge smile on his face and throws his hands together. He loves clapping, and he loves when we clap with him! He is so much fun and is always laughing and smiling. He is super active and we definitely make great use of our baby gates. He is a great eater and there really isn't much that he won't eat. We are working on him to start drinking out of a sippy. He doesn't seem to interested so far but I'm hoping that once he figures it out, he'll be a fan.

Cougar

We went to dinner on Friday night at our friend's, the Moxley's. He is a huge hunter we had grilled Elk steaks for dinner. It was divine. We were talking about all the game in his freezer and he brought out Cougar and gave it to us to try.

It was delicious! It tasted a lot like sausage. (It was seasoned with pork sausage seasoning). The boys devoured it, and asked for seconds. Such a fun experience!

Spring-like February

We have had such *beautiful* weather this past week. Despite the frigid temperatures, we've ventured out of the house a couple times to enjoy the park. After being cooped up all Winter long in our small abode, we couldn't let these rays of sun go un-enjoyed!

Eggs

We are up to 8 eggs a day! That means every one of our chickens is laying. We LOVE it! It is so exciting to go out there with the boys and collect them. We get 2 white eggs, 4 light brown eggs, 1 green egg, and 1 dark brown/reddish egg. So much fun!

Multnomah Falls

William came and stayed with us for (1 then it turned into) 2 weeks. We had a blast! We got a lot of organizing/cleaning done in our house and garage but we also ventured outside of the house. On the last Saturday he was here we went to Multnomah Falls. William had never been there, the boys don't remember ever being there, and although I've been there, I've never hiked there. We brought Quinlan Hess along with us and we had a blast!

William wanted to carry Everett so it would "feel more like a real hike" and him and Quinlan took off for the top. Sean and I went at a much slower pace with Brayden and Asher. But, we all had a blast! W & Q went up and back and met us at the 1/2 mile mark. (I think it's just over 1 mile to the top of the falls). We hiked on a little side trail after they met up with us and really enjoyed being outside. The weather was gorgeous, albeit chilly, and we definitely made the most of it!
