Short Hair

I decided a while back that I was going to cut off my hair and donate it to locks of love. Then began the quest of finding out what hair style I wanted...which in the end didn't even matter because the stylist did something completely different but oh well. I don't LOVE it, not yet...but I think it will grow on me. I was going for something more "cute and sexy" and I feel like I got "strong, independent, sophisticated." Oh well...hair grows, right? I really do like it, and I have gotten a million compliments already and it happened barely 12 hours ago. (The joys of facebook.) I've just never done anything this drastic before in my life. Courtney came with me as my support (Thanks a ton!) and of course, brought her camera. I'm so spoiled! Here is a list of what I've learned so far about my hair... Pros: I'll save a lot in shampoo and conditioner. My shower times will be shortened. I'll no longer have to use 2 towels, one for my hair and one for my body. Cons: it's REALLY short. Sean can't run his fingers through my hair anymore which I loved. It will take awhile I think to get to a style that I like. I have to learn how to make it look like the girl a the salon did.

All that being said, I don't regret it. Not even at all. I love the change, and I'm ready to embrace it.

Update on the boys: They are both napping at the same time in the same room for the first time ever. Yay! Brayden knows all of his colors and uses them constantly. He also knows how to sing his ABC's. His favorite song is "Princess Pat." A couple times has come up to me and said "I'm a girl!" haha...we should work on that one. Asher knows how to down stairs like a pro. He is taking steps more frequently each day, but still hasn't done more than 4 at a time.

I'm sure there are more, but I can't remember them right now! I'm just rejoicing that the house is silent :)

Cheesecake Factory: Party of Twelve

My Birthday

...was awesome! I was nervous about how it was going to be with Sean being out of town and all, but it was all good! My friend Michelle was in town for a wedding on Friday, so she came over Friday afternoon. We had dinner then walked to the store across the street with the boys and bought ice cream. After putting the boys down, we watched a movie and ate ice cream and caught up. It was so fun! We woke up Saturday and headed over to Farmer's Market since Michelle had never been. It was fun. I love those things! After the market we went to the mall and walked around. We went to Powell's Books and there was this Narnia popup book. Michelle opened it to the Lion page right in front of Brayden and growled and he jumped back and got so scared. It was hilarious to watch! It took him a good ten minutes to come "pet" the thing. It was awesome! Anyway, the boys were getting tired so we came home and ate lunch. Michelle did my hair for me so it would look cute for my party that night then she had to get herself ready for the reception she was going to that night. After we were all ready, it was time for both of us to leave. Her to head North and my boys and I to my party.

My party was awesome! There were about 30 people there, including kids. We had barbecued hamburgers and hotdogs that were delicious and Danika made me an amazing cake. It was gorgeous! I can't wait to get the pictures off of their camera. It was so fun to hang out and catch up with friends I hadn't seen in awhile. Thank you so much everyone for coming!

I definitely felt well taken care of, that's for sure! I had a bunch of emails, phone calls, and messages on facebook and I definitely felt loved. Thank you so much everyone for making my day so special!

Baby Steps

Asher took his first steps yesterday! He has been SO close for a few days now and I told Sean "Asher is going to take his first steps while you're in Canada." He wasn't okay with that so we spent 20 minutes encouraging Asher to walk between us. It took a little bit, but then he did it! He took 2 steps, stopped, then took one more step before falling to his knees. It was exciting! We knew he was close but it was fun that he actually did it! He is 10.5 months old. This is crazy! How in the heck is my baby almost walking!!?

Sean is going to a Janeway Family Reunion/Memorial for his great uncle. He left this morning bright and early and will be back Monday afternoon. We all didn't go for a few reasons. 1. We would have had to get passports for the boys and we couldn't afford it. 2. We couldn't afford the flights or the gas to drive (and there is no way in Hades I'd drive 12+ hours with these 2 kids right now. No thank you.) 3. We just got back from vacation and since we're managing our complex we have to be somewhat responsible and be here to do our job. So alas, Sean flew up with his dad this morning and left me here to parent the kidlets all by myself for 4 days. Yay.

Brayden has been talking SO much more. I think it's because we spent a week with a lot of cousins that are around his age. Just this past week he has started saying full sentences like "I wanna ride the horsey!" "I found my gankey" (blankie) instead of "ride horsey! ride horsey!" or "gankey! gankey!" He is visibly trying harder to say more words. He repeats after us a lot as it is, but now he'll say the same thing over and over...practicing the words. It's so cute!

I love my boys!

Tidbits

Asher cut his first tooth...FINALLY! It came through on the 12th. It had been just under the surface for awhile so this is pretty exciting. It was his front left bottom tooth. (Is there a better way to describe that?) Asher can climb down the stairs now all by himself. I still don't let him do it without being supervised but I'm impressed anyway!

When Brayden gives hugs, he doesn't wrap his arms around your neck. He lays his cheek on your shoulder. But one shoulder doesn't suffice. He has to do it on BOTH shoulders. We call it his "European hug." It's stinkin cute.

Four

Sean Bradford Janeway

4 years babe! We're here! Can you believe it!? Isn't is so weird to think that we've known each other for 6 years? I don't feel old enough to be with you that long. We've definitely had our trials and struggles, but you know what? I wouldn't trade it. Life is hard, but regardless of what we're doing and who we're with it's hard. I am so blessed that I get to go through my trials with you. You make them just a little more manageable. I love waking up with you every morning, and going to sleep with you every night. I love when you walk through the door after work and you are always so excited to see me and the kids. I love that you don't mind taking the kids while I work out, or just need a break. I love that you spend time with me; in the kitchen, grocery shopping, playing games, watching a movie or playing with the kids. I admire your willingness to do better and I aspire to be able to do that as well as you. Thank you for sharing your life with me.

You rock my world.
