Christmas!

The Perfect Christmas entails the following:

• Playing dozens of board games
• eating pounds and pounds of Christmas goodies
• Watching the Lunar Eclipse
• Diligently finishing last minute details on Mom and Dad's Christmas gift
• Last minute Christmas gift shopping 
• Lisa kicking my butt as I attempt part of one of her workouts
• Hanging out with friends from high school
• Christmas Caroling
• Watching movies (some of them twice)
• Hearing "Grandma got run over by a reindeer" at least 100 times and never getting sick of it. 
• Making food...lots of food.
• Playing Wii and PS3
• Wrapping presents
• Sean wrapping Brayden's bike so it looked like Rudolph
• Staying up really late into the night laughing and talking
• Mom and Dad bawling over their awesome Christmas gift
• Zhu Zhu pets roaming the house
• learning new board games
• Heather and Dylan surprising us and showing up Christmas evening!
• Dylan painting my fingernails dark purple
• Making several smoothies in my new Vitamix!
• Proving that the Vitamix does in fact heat your soup
• Mom teaching her Sunday School lesson to the Laurels and all 4 of her daughters being there
• After Christmas sale shopping
• more games, movies, food, treats
• endless laughter
• the best memories EVER being made!

For Christmas this year, we decided to make Mom and Dad a Nativity Scene. Each person (child, spouse, grandchild) had a piece to make... There were no requirements or restrictions. We were simply to use our "talents" and make the piece come from the heart.

Stephen whittled baby Jesus out of beech wood. Lisa heat pressed vinyl onto a cloth as the ground cover. That was the first piece Mom and Dad opened, and Mom instantly tagged it as our "Harston Family Crest." So I have a feeling we'll be seeing that a lot more than Christmas. It is quite brilliant. Kyle had Joseph, whom he chose to sculpt out of rice krispies, then decorate with chocolate. I had a Shepherd, that I designed in illustrator, cut out of vinyl, then applied onto foam core. Natalie welded the stable out of steel. Heather used her mad artistic skills and did a paper Mary, and William used hot glue and tin foil to make a wiseman. Keith ordered a C3PO off of Amazon and cut up an old tshirt to make the cape. He used a barbie crown from his friend-that's-a-girl to finish off his "wiseman baring Gold". Scott made his wiseman out of legos. Quinn was in charge of lighting, Dylan (and Heather) recorded 4 Christmas songs to be playing in the background. Sean used Fimo clay and molded his shepherd and the 2 sheep for the boys :). Tycen, Garret, Lance and Paul (with the help of his mother) all used pom poms and pipe cleaners to make their cow, camel, and 2 sheep. Hailey and Adelle (with Jenny's help) made a donkey and a sheep out of Fimo clay. Kayla made the star, which she painted orange and yellow and used gold glitter.

After it all came together, it looked so goofy, but amazingly awesome as well. You can see the love that went into each piece, as well as the love that we have as a family. It is surprisingly cohesive while being totally random. It is by far my favorite Christmas present I have ever been a part of, and I doubt that it can ever be topped. It was amazing!!

(I recorded the entire thing on video so my sibs in UT could see it, but that means I didn't get any photos. Lisa did, so I'll get those from her soon and post them asap!)

All in all, it was the BEST Christmas ever. The only thing that would have made it better is if Stephen and Jenny and their kids could have been here to share the holiday season with us. Hopefully next year!!!

Movement

Sean felt the baby move this morning! He felt Asher move at 13 weeks, 4 days, and he felt Brayden move around 14.5 weeks... So to be 20 weeks 3 days...he has been waiting a long time! My placenta is in the front this pregnancy as I mentioned earlier, so I have felt hardly any movement...definitely none significant enough for Sean to feel. But this morning, that all changed! Now the boys keep asking "When do we get to feel him kick?" Hopefully soon! They love their little brother so much already. Tonight as we were putting the boys down for bed we were asking them what we should name the baby. Brayden said "Um, let's call him Treat!" haha then Sean and I kept throwing out names and Brayden says "No, I don't like that name." or "That name isn't right." I am so glad that these boys have so much interest in this baby. It makes me even more excited!!

Merry Christmas!!

Hello Family and Friends!!

This year has been a crazy, busy, and fun one!

Brayden is 3 and is loving Preschool. He has made a few friends there and looks forward to seeing them 3 times a week. He loves that he's allowed to get dirty and get creative! He is a smart little one, and he definitely knows how to keep us laughing!

Asher is 2 and is our little monkey. He is a curious and active little child and loves getting into everything! He is always laughing, and his favorite thing right now is "fishy kisses" where he puckers his lips like a fish and kisses you on the cheek. We love it!!

We are expecting Baby Boy #3! He is due May 5th, and is healthy and growing beautifully! The boys are so so excited for the little brother that will join our family this Spring. They continually ask to "see the baby", which means I show them my belly so they can talk to, kiss and love on the brother growing inside! Brayden even reads the baby bedtime stories. Last week he told the entire story of "Goldilocks and the Three Bears", with voices included. It was the cutest thing ever!!

Sean is still working in the DNA industry... he loves it! It is definitely an entertaining field and it keeps him as busy as ever. It is cool to see his business growing and to see his vision of it come to life. He has a couple other business ventures on the side as well, so he is a busy, but happy guy!

I quit my job with Larsen Billing Service at the end of November to spend more time with my children before #3 was born. I wanted to be able to focus more on my kids, my home, and our managing gig! It is such a huge blessing to live where we do, and for the opportunity that we have to manage this townhouse complex. I truly don't know what we would do without this in our lives and am grateful every day for the blessing it is to us. I still do vinyl lettering, but more now than ever just as a hobby. I still love it, just don't have a ton of time for it!

We made some great memories this year. We are grateful for the family and friends that have been there and support us and celebrate with us through the good and not so good :) We hope that this letter reaches you all happy and healthy, and enjoying this Holiday Season!

It's a...

BOY!!!!

It's true Ladies and Gentlemen... Janeway Baby #3 is another boy!! We were all convinced that it was a girl but the ultrasound very clearly proved us wrong today...and we couldn't be happier! I seriously cannot wipe this smile off of my face. It might hit me in a few days that I'm not getting that little girl I've been dreaming of but for now, I'm over the moon. I can't wait to hold our third son in my arms in 20 weeks! I'll post some of the (dozens) of ultrasound pictures the tech printed for us!

The entire appointment she kept praising this child. She said "This is a textbook baby! I couldn't have written better stats than this" and "What a gorgeous, beautiful child. Everything looks immaculate! You are a good baby grower" haha. I had to laugh. She was awesome. She said it was a pleasure doing our ultrasound and she already loves her job but if each ultrasound was as fun as that one she'd never take vacation!  It was awesome to get such good feedback on our elusive little child that I have yet to solidly feel move around inside of me. I've felt tiny movements very rarely but she said it's because my placenta is on the front of my uterus instead of in the back. Whatever...as long as the baby is healthy! He kept moving around and kicking and waving his arms and kept showing us that he's healthy and happy and that he's excited to come meet us! 

Seriously...I'm about to burst. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!

To Our Family and Friends...

Happy Birthday Baron!!

Today is our little pal Baron's 2nd birthday. His mom Stephanie came over last night and we made him a Mickey Mouse cake. It was an adventure, as always, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Still on a huge learning curve but slowly and surely getting more of the feel of it all.

I can't wait to hear what Baron's reaction was to his cake! He's gonna love it :)
