After yesterday's post being a tribute to Brayden, I couldn't let today slip away without talking about my Asher. I knew I wanted to do this so I've spent a lot of my day thinking about him and the joy that he brings to my life.
Asher is adorable. He has the most precious smile...the kind the pierces through to your heart and injects a little bit of joy. He loves to dance. Clap. Sing. Laugh.
Scream. He loves to scream. When he's happy, sad, upset. He especially loves to scream when the room echoes. Just ask Courtney :)
He is such a little adventurer. And curious. He knows how to push a chair anywhere to get whatever he wants.
His vocabulary is constantly growing. But even without words, he knows how to communicate.
I realized today that he has more teeth than I thought. I thought he only had 6. 4 on top, 2 on bottom. But it turns out He has 2 molars as well. And he is cutting his bottom tooth just right of center today too.
Asher is a tank. Still. He eats. and eats. and eats. And he throws his food. And likes to smear peanut butter and jelly on the walls, chairs, couch and carpet.
Asher's favorite toys are balls and cars. Mostly balls. He loves to throw them, but his favorite thing is to watch his dad "guggle". Sean was playing with the boys one day and decided to juggle for them. Ever since then, Asher will go gather 3 balls (usually all different sizes) and bring them to Sean and say "uh! uh! guggle!" It's pretty adorable.
He has been going down for naps like a champ lately. He still grabs his ear and sucks on the back of his other hand when he's tired. When that happens I say "Asher, go grab your blankie!" and he perks up and goes "huh?" (cutest sound ever!) and wanders to go find it. Then he brings it to me and hugs me. I carry him up the stairs where I stand by his crib in an attempt to cuddle him before I place him in it. He throws his body back leaving his chin as the only place left for me to kiss. I kiss the very bottom of his chin and lay him back. He looks up at me in anticipation as I lay his blanket completely over his body. He lifts up his arms and throws the blanket off his face. Then says "yu you" while waving His "I love you sign." (which misses the pinky so it's him waving an "L".) He then rolls over and goes to sleep. How blessed am I?
It are these little moments that I cherish. The ones that make being a mom all worth it. There are definitely hard days, but I wouldn't trade these kids for anything. They are my absolute reason for breathing!
